Meet Amber Kresovich, LPC
I graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s of Science from the Human Development and Family Studies program. Then I decided to further my education by attending graduate school at Loyola University Maryland. There I obtained my Master's of Science in Counseling Psychology, a Minor in Psychology, and completed additional coursework so that I could become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Over the past 16 years, I have had the pleasure of working with children, teens, families and adults with varying needs in schools, homes, and community settings. I strive to provide an environment that clients feel safe, supported, and validated. In turn, this will lead to a positive therapeutic relationship in which self-reflection, processing, and changes can be made.
• In addition to helping you with your presenting symptoms or issues, I like to also focus on the “Pillars of Wellness” to help support your overall wellbeing. This would include your sleep, nutrition, activity, and self-care. In addition, we will also take a look at your past experiences and family of origin in order to move forward. Many different approaches can be used depending on your presenting issue and you can read more about my approach and what to expect on the “Approach” page
I hope to help you, your child, or your family with whatever obstacles or challenges you may be facing.
At Mind Over Matter, I have had the privilege to offer the services of independent contractors to clients that I cannot see due to conflict of interest, availability, or presenting concern. Below, please read more about the wonderful women who have chosen to spend their time at Mind Over Matter. Please note: Independent contractors have full control over their schedules and thus not all referrals are guaranteed to be staffed.

Whether you’re seeking short-term solutions or long-term support, I will work collaboratively with you to build coping skills, enhance emotional resilience, and achieve meaningful change.
Meet Emily Bumgarner
We can gain insight to the human experience, understand different perspectives and learn about the lives of others when we truly listen to their stories of life. My approach to mental health therapy is person centered and often utilizing a cognitive behavioral approach. I will meet you where you are at and the responses will vary with the present moment. Whatever you are seeking through therapy will be your outcome when you commit to the possibility of change. My professional experience includes over 15 years and related to social work, working with the foster care system, the community and outpatient settings. Throughout the past 15 years, I have worked with all age groups and from all walks of life. My focus in sessions is the here and now as well as past experiences that often contribute to the current place of discomfort. However, therapy does not have to be all discomfort but recognized as a form of self care and mental health preservation.
Meet Katelynn Hubbard
At the practice, I offer mental health counseling to individuals coping with various disorders, concerns and problems including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, adjustment to a new job or move, grief, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD as well as to serve individuals looking to seek personal growth and development. I am most comfortable and effective seeing individuals aged 13 years and older, however, I do occasionally see younger children if they are able to participate in talk therapy and their needs suit my expertise.
I offer a traditional psychotherapy style that allows you the time and space in session to process your feelings, concerns, thoughts, and symptoms. I am a Person-Centered therapist, meaning I focus on providing an unconditionally accepting, safe, and inviting environment in which you can feel comfortable exploring your concerns and finding valid solutions. I do, at times, employ other techniques such as cognitive-behavior therapy, existential approaches, and psychodynamic or Jungian approaches. Which approaches are used depends on the client and the symptom being addressed in therapy. My approach is most effective on a long-term basis (1+ years in therapy) and focuses heavily on addressing root causes, beliefs and fundamental issues that affect symptoms rather than quickly resolving the presenting concern and symptoms which can lead to re-experiencing of the same issue later down the road as sometimes the root cause has not been addressed.
If you are interested to learn more about me, my approach or my availability to take new clients, please reach out to me by filling out the “Contact Us” portion of this website or by emailing me directly at kbenderhubbard@gmail.com
Meet Amber Thomas, MSW, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I have over 10 years of experience working with various populations including children, adolescents, adults and families. I have worked in various settings and have experience in treating a wide variety of presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, life transitions, grief and loss, self-esteem, ADHD, OCD, stress, and assertiveness/communication.
I use a client-centered and solution-focused approach to therapy, based on a cognitive-behavioral model of emotions and behavior. This includes focusing on specific problems or goals and working toward developing skills and strategies to solve those problems and reach those goals as well as examining how your thoughts and beliefs affect your feelings and actions. Together, we will collaboratively explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, fostering self-awareness and empowering you to make a positive change.
I believe that you are the expert of your story, and my counseling style will be tailored to meet you where you are and where you want to go. You can expect empathy, compassion, a bit of humor and a safe space for healing and growth.
